About Us
We are a family-run farm. Both of our owners are well-timed National Guard soldiers. We have an 800-tap sugarbush on our property; we work tirelessly all spring to produce the best tasting we can offer while enhancing the beauty and health of our forest. We hope you enjoy the taste of Vermont.
Summit Maple Farm is located in the foothills of the western slopes of the Green Mountains. We produce our syrup in small batches using a wood-fired evaporator. The sap is collected right on our hilltop property from a bird-friendly sugarbush certified by Audubon Vermont.
In our sugarhouse, we focus on efficiency. We boil on a wood-fired evaporator, which uses gasification combustion to burn all the fuel in our firewood, which comes from our property. We also use a Lapierre reverse osmosis machine to remove most of the water from the maple sap. This process keeps our sugarhouse running efficiently, using only one cord of firewood for every 100 gallons of syrup produced.
Our Sugarwoods
The trees from which our sap comes are on our hilltop property in Fairfax, Vermont. Here, we call it a sugarbush. Our sugarbush is managed using organic practices and is certified bird-friendly by Vermont Audubon to ensure healthy habitat songbird habitats for purchasing from a small combat veteran-owned business. Every purchase helps support veterans nationwide through donations to various nonprofits.
